Puja & Samskaras

Puja (worship) and Samskaras (sacraments or rituals) are important aspects of daily life and spiritual practice in ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) temples. These rituals help devotees connect with the divine, seek blessings, and mark significant life events. Here are some common Puja and Samskaras observed in ISKCON temples

These Puja and Samskara rituals play a vital role in the spiritual and community life of ISKCON temples, helping devotees deepen their devotion, seek spiritual guidance, and commemorate important life events in a Vedic and Krishna-conscious way.

Samskaras: Purificatory Ceremonies

We are pleased to announce that we are performing samskaras, or purificatory ceremonies, for the congregational members of ISKCON Adelaide. The Vedic literature describes that there are many such opportunities during one’s life – from birth to after death – when one may perform a ceremony for purification to evoke auspiciousness and ensure advancement in spiritual life. Samskara is not a substitute for the regulative principles of spiritual life as enunciated by Srila Prabhupada. However, in conjunction with these principles performance of samskaras guarantees eventual perfection in life.
